About Crosswalks
A crosswalk does two jobs: it protects pedestrians, and it tells a driver that someone is about to cross. Paint does both poorly within a season of installation — faded, chalked, and invisible in rain within a year. HUB crosswalk systems are specified where those jobs are taken seriously. TrafficPatterns and TrafficPatternsXD thermoplastic fuse permanently to the road surface, maintaining ASTM-rated retroreflectivity through snowplow cycles, de-icing chemical seasons, and freeze-thaw cycles that destroy surface paint.
